Winzip Installation

Tools Needed

5,4,3mm Allen wrenches
    Cable Cutter
    Pliers

Caliper Mount Instructions

Use 5mm brake housing or compressionless brake housing.  Never use shifter housing for brake applications.

Leave all items loose as you assemble the parts.

1.  Mount the caliper mount to the Hayes platform on your left rear chainstay.

2.  Bolt the Winzip caliper to the caliper mount you just bolted to the frame.

3.  Actuate the brake arm so the pads squeeze the rotor and tighten all 4 bolts you have left loose.

4.  Adjust the outer pad with a 3mm Allen wrench and the inner pad with a 5mm Allen wrench.

Cable Pull Amplifier

You may use either an inline Travel Agent or a Brake Power Booster (BPB) to make road levers compatible with the Winzip caliper.

1.  Pull the rear brake cable from its housing.

2.  Select a spot in the brake housing near the handlebar where the TA or BPB will not hit the finish of your bike after installing it.  Cut out a 2" section of housing.  Follow the instructions with the type of device included with your kit.

The stopping power of a disc brake is rather pitiful when brand new and before the pads have a chance to bed in or seat in properly.  Braking performance improves greatly over the 1st 200 miles of use so please ride accordingly during this period of time.
